Ennerdale Horseshoe - Part Two
After descending to Scarth Gap it was onto Haystacks and Innominate Tarn to pay my respects to the great man.

Innominate Tarn.
Decided to take in Green Crag and glad I did, as you get a different perspective on Haystacks.
To continue the horseshoe decided to join Moses Trod, this is a view of Kirk Fell from Moses Trod.
Great Gable from a similar position along Moses Trod.
Rib End, Kirk Fell from Beck Head.
Pillar (left) and High Stile range (right) from Kirk Fell.
Distinctive shape of Great Gable from Kirk Fell. After having a short stop at Kirk Fell - North Top I felt completely refreshed however I hadn't bargained for the steep descent of Kirk Fell (Kirk Fell Crags) and then the 300m+ ascent to Pillar. Without a doubt this was the toughest section of the walk.
High Stile range from the summit of Looking Stead .
Pillar from Looking Stead.
Not only taken for the view of Mickledore, Lingmell and Scafells but the cloud formation.
Pillar Summit trig.
Pillar Rock from the edge of the Pillar summit plateau.
Steeple Summit from Pillar - Black Crags.
Easy walking, not only in terms of conditions underfoot but also navigation - just follow the wall. This photo is taken nearly at the col between Scoat Fell and Haycock.
After meeting several other walkers at the summit of Pillar, once beyond Scoat Fell I was alone again. However I guess it would be a different story at the summit of Scafell Pike? This is a shot of Scafell Pike, Mickledore and Scafell from the ascent of Haycock.
Looking towards Scoat Fell from the summit of Haycock, plus canine visitor!
Starting the long descent to the car at Bowness Knott car park, Little Gowder Crag in the distance.
Looking back at Little Gowder Crag, this was the last of the rocky sections. It's all fast walking on grass now.
Apart from a rocky Caw Fell Summit!
Iron Crag Summit looking back to Steeple and Pillar.
Crag Fell Summit, Great Borne in the background.
Stunning Ennerdale water?
Late afternoon sunshine on Crag Fell.
After spending virtually all day at 500m+ I'm now 110m above sea level and a flat walk around Ennerdale Water back to the car.
