Rhiangoll Round
Distance:~6 miles
Ascent:~2,000ft
Time:2hr 15 minutes
With:Alone
Conditions:Very warm & sunny, light breeze
This was my second attempt to climb Waun Fach - Last August (2007) got to approximately the position from where the first picture was taken
when the heavens opened and I was treated to a spectacular lightning show. After sheltering under a tree for about an hour I gave up and returned to the car.
Today the weather was absolutely great - very warm with a slight breeze. Summer is here!

Route taken

Looking across to the lower reaches of Pen Trumau across the stream, Rhiangoll.

Looking towards the Brecons, due to the heat visibility was poor.

Due to the heat, the normally boggy Waun Fach summit has dried out, no wet feet today.

Instead of retracing my footsteps I completed a round of the stream, Rhiangoll. This is a view of my route of ascent.

Looking down the nose of Twyn Mawr

Lovely tributary of Rhiangoll

Nearly back to the car, Castell Dinas
